USA, 2011, 6 minutes Director: Paul Donatelli Romeo Gilberto Osorio's small piñata shop in San Francisco boasts a showroom filled with colorful crepe paper-covered characters. But his mild mannered appearance belies a violent and traumatic past as a guerrilla commander in El Salvador's bloody civil war thirty years ago. His life story is that of a burgeoning artist pulled by circumstance into a war, now struggling to put his past behind him and focus on the intricate yet underappreciated art form of making piñatas.
