FIRST FRIDAY @ GALERIA WEST Music Series
The popular FIRST FRIDAY Music Concert Series returns to the wonderfully intimate Galeria West Art Gallery with a dynamic evening of the melodies of Latin America and beyond as performed by acclaimed harp soloist Enki Semiramis. A native of Colombia, Ms. Semiramis is characterized by her own musical style, always in an unconditional search for the recondite secrets of the harp and its melodies along with her respectful sense of musical ethics. She is an outstanding interpreter of the music from the Colombian plains and her musical aptitudes have their basis in her dedication and love for her instrument. Her efforts to make true a dream of accomplishing virtuosity in the performance of chosen pieces, satisfying the most demanding musical taste, takes us through different musical latitudes while allowing novelty and variety. After getting involved with the cuatro(4 string instrument) and the maracas in 2003, she started her "Arpa Llanera" (Venezuelan harp) studies under the direction of Hildo Ariel Aguirre Daza at the Llano and Joropo Academy in Bogota, Colombia. Enki Semiramis is a young talented artist who seeks to promote the "Arpa Llanera" as a solo interpreter. She possesses a selected repertory of music from different countries in Latin America and Europe, with emphasis in Colombian and Venezuelan folklore. Her in demand musical skills have allowed her to offer recent concerts performances on several stages in Colombia and United States including the Teatro Pedro de Heredia in Cartagena, Colombia; Miami Dade College; the Hotel Intercontinental in Dallas, Texas; and this TEATRO Sí encore performance, among others.
