Seattle Summit:The future of classical music
Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear leaders from the LAPhil, San Francisco Symphony, The Juilliard School and Seattle Opera explore the future of classical music through their own individual and successful programs in music education and audience development.Moderated by the Seattle Symphony's Music Director, Gerard Schwarz, you will be introduced to El Sistema, Venezuela's extraordinary Youth Orchestra network, San Francisco Symphony's national multimedia Keeping Score program and Seattle Opera's engaging Experience Opera Project. Key note speaker, Greg Sandow will offer a provocative and challenging perspective on the future of classical music and will be joined by panelists Ann Midgette of the New York Times, Melinda Bargreen of the Seattle Times and Gavin Borchet from the Weekly. Seattle musical treasures,the Opera's Young Artists ,the Symphony's principal cellist, Joshua Roman and gifted young violinist's Simone Porter and Marie Rossano will perform throughout the conference.
