Tickets: $150 The distinctly delicious annual gala celebrates the culinary genius and inspired cuisine of the most highly regarded Black executive chefs and restaurateurs from the Seattle region. The CD Forum will honor restaurateur Donna Moodie of marjorie; Anthony R. Miles, partner at Stoel Rives; and Charles Johnson, artist, author, and S. Wilson and Grace M. Pollock Excellence in English Chair at the University of Washington. Each will be honored with our inaugural Connoisseur of the Arts Award.
Join us for delicious food, a silent auction, a delectable dessert auction, and dancing.
Proceeds from Food As Art at Bell Harbor support The CD Forum's mission to present and produce Black cultural programs that encourage thought and debate for the greater Seattle area.
This year's chefs include:
Graca Rebeiro, of Tempero de Brasil. Her menu includes Moqueca de Frutos do Mar; a traditional Bahian seafood stew that is heavily influenced by African cuisine.
Michael Poole, of Catering by Michael. He will be serving seafood jambalaya with petit cornbread muffins and award winning chocolates
Returning chef and Iron Chef contender, Chef Wayne Johnson of Ray's Boathouse. He is will presenting salmon cakes with caper fill aoli.
Mulugeta Abate of Pan African Market, who will present a curried goat with red rice, black-eye pea cakes with cabbage slaw.
Kristi Brown-Wokoma of That Brown Girl, will delight us with collard greens bisque-big Al's turkey club.
For after dinner sorbet, Samuel Bell of Seattle Sorbets will present sorbets in raspberry Merlot, champagne orange, and tequila lime flavors.
The night also includes chefs Clifton Lyles of Alaska Airlines, Chef Amadeus of Sessions with Amadeus; St. Clouds' Sharrieff Austin; Theo Martin of Columbia City's Island Soul; Debbie Hatfield of Absolutely Cookin'; Darren Belcher of Great Performance Catering; and Donna Moodie of marjorie; who not only is one of our honorees, but also the creator of the desserts for this year's dessert auction.
