Drinking Lessons No. 21 Bourbon (Seating #2)

Bourbon is a type of American whiskey a barrel-aged distilled spirit made primarily from corn. The name of the spirit derives from its historical association with an area known as Old Bourbon, around what is now Bourbon County, Kentucky (which, in turn, was named after the French House of Bourbon royal family). It has been produced since the 18th century. While it may be made anywhere in the United States, it is strongly associated with the American South in general, and Kentucky in particular.

Drinking Lesson to feature:

Woodford Reserve: Known to be the landmark site of discoveries and innovative techniques in bourbon-making in the 1800's.

Eagle Rare Tenure: Eagle Rare was originally a 101-proof ten-year old Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey (not single-barrel) from Seagram created by master distiller Charles L. Beam.

Buffalo Trace: Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is distilled, aged and bottled at the most award-winning distillery in the world with 200 years of bourbon making.

Guests can expect an animated 1 hour lesson in the preparation and history of Macallan cocktails from leading bartenders, drink historians and quality distillers, plus a few bites from the Hunt Club kitchen. Sessions at 6pm or 8pm and limited to 12 seats.

Night School is a collaboration between the Sorrento Hotel, Michael Hebb, an array of intellectuals, artists, writers, filmmakers, mixologists, chefs and the leading cultural institutions in the Northwest.
