Ticon and Jirah LIVE!
An event presented by and for the NW604 community, on February 7th, 2004...

TICON (LIVE/DJ)
(Digital Structures - Sweden)

FIRST SEATTLE APPEARANCE!!!!

The successful Ticon grooves comes from Filip Maerdberg of vintage year 1979 and Fredrik Gilenholt of an equivalent 1977. The story of their musical involvement dates long back as they in 1991 found the mutual interest for underground dance music and became friends. Fredrik had already been listening to hardtrance and acid techno for a while and introduced Filip who, probably due to the size of their hometown Malmoe - Sweden (and maybe his age), had never heard anything like it but was immediately addicted. It didn`t take long before they both started to dream about making this music themselves and with an Amiga 500 they where on the go.

After successfull realases of now classic singles like 'ass-tronaut', 'monkey business', 'rattlesnake lollipop', 'lo mi hi' and 'input, output, kaput' on lables like TIP World, Hadshot Haheizar, Transient rec, Dragonfly rec, Surround Sounds and of course Digital Structures, Ticon released the amazing full length "Rewind" album that proved that Ticon was one of the worlds best trance acts. In 2003 they released there second album "Aero" That is still ripping up dancefloors all over the world.

In addition to The Ticon project there is a lot of other music made in there studio; with New Disco Science Alliance they try to bridge over to a clubbier style of tech house; with Qlap, which is a project with Son Kite, main idea is to fuse the two groups to get something new. Then there is also a downbeat project without a name so far (although 2 tracks have been released under the Ticon name) and at last a new experiment which in lack of other definition must be called a pop project with a songwriter and a vocalist.

Happy faces have been shining back at them from Australia to Mexico, Japan to numerous festivals like VOOV, Samothraki, Fusion and to play live is what they really love to do, "- working in the studio is wonderful but playing at a nice party beats everything"

JIRAH (LIVE)
(Dragonfly - UK/USA)

FIRST SEATTLE LIVE PERFORMANCE IN ALMOST A YEAR!!!

Jirah is Tim McCall, a resident of Seattle, USA. He has been involved in music from a very young age, traveling through different genres and finally arriving on the trance scene in 1997. Tim released his first EP on Universal Mind Records in 2000; and since then has released tracks for various compilations. Since the debut of his first album "Outer Access" on USTA in early 2003, he has quickly come to worldwide attention and is constantly gaining momentum through his live performances and dj sets.

Tim has performed in various places throughout the Americas, Canada, Europe, and Israel. He has earned a reputation for being a seamless dj and moving live act, touching the soul with his energetic and uplifting grooves. Tim has a true love and passion for this music which shows in every set he plays. The arrangements tend to take on a story-like approach, making it music that can sit equally well at home or on the dance-floor.

Wherever you may find him, be prepared for a mind bending and uplifting psychedelic joyride that is the Jirah sound! And as always, remember that this music is best enjoyed LOUD.

NICK TORNETTA

Nick's DJ career began well before his first party. Starting in house and breaks, his love for trance quickly led him to the Psychedelic side. Since then, Nick has played with international acts such as Infected Mushroom, Deedrah, Psysex and more. Expect to see him at events while touring the US with Sweden's trance[]control (www.trancecontrol.com), as well as bookings in New York, San Franscisco and more!

AMANITA
(Cell Division - Seattle, WA)

Brian has been a local DJ for years in Seattle focusing on uplifting and driving sounds. For this show however he will play with the Progressive side of Psychedelic Trance.

EVAN HOYLE
(LuCid Productions - Seattle, WA)

An accomplished progressive DJ of 3 years, Evan's long standing psychedelic roots have recently converted him to the full-blown psytrance DJ that he is today. Having been an avid electronic music listener for 6 years now, this up-and-coming 19-year-old talent has already demonstrated to the local scene his natural ability to move a crowd.

TEMPEST (LIVE)
(Seattle, WA)

Music woven together from parts of acid lines, layered effects, and synthetic textures gives listeners a listening portal to the energetic artistic side of psytrance. Classically trained at an early age with violin, guitar and piano, his past experiences in rock, industrial, trip-hop, ambient, dance, and progressive have come together to create his current unique style of intuitive psytrance.
