Group Care Discussion
Group Care Committee members and Group Care Providers Over the last year or so a group of Group/Residential Care providers and some of the regional and provincial Child and Family Services professionals have been meeting to discuss what it will take to have a better Group/Residential Care provision in Alberta.
In doing so we have examined the need for Group/Residential care, identified and categorized them as community, community treatment and campus based care. We have also generated a list of ingredients for good care. This will be discussed further at our next Symposium in January 2016.
At the same time, the Government of Alberta has introduced the Accountability Act and strict rules about procurement. There will be a Request for Qualifications put out in the next few months in this area. The staff from the province would like to discuss this with you and hope to answer any questions that you may have. For the next meeting on September 23, 2015 at 130 430 PM we would like to invite all committee members and group/residential care providers to meet in Red Deer at the CATZ Training Room 4828-53rd Street.
This session will be specifically on group care/residential care. There will be other presentations around the province about the procurement process starting in late October. Those will be more general and will include the practice shifts update as part of them.
We will cover: Foundations of Caregiver support RFQ process and plan for tender Looking forward and Questions and answers
The facilitators for this session will be Norm Welch and Lisa Halcrow
