Described as the "American Idol" of belly dance, Belly Dance Off is an educational touring talent show illuminating the secrets of dance improvisation in performance with live music. Join us and help decide the 2015 Pro and Rising Star Grand Champions! Three Rising Star finalists and three Pro finalists from Rounds 1, 2, and 3 compete for titles, trophies, ribbons, tiaras, cash, and other prizes!
Guests will enjoy the delicious menu of Harissa Mediterranean Cuisine as finalists draw songs from a hat and perform with live Egyptian music by MB Orchestra. Expert judges Delilah, Tracy Helming, and Shannon Knauss present live feedback on the mic. Audience and judges vote to decide the winner. Through this reflective process, the general public as well as dancers learn a great deal!
At halftime guests are invited to dance, with a special prize for best shimmies!
About the Director:
Suzanna is a lifelong cross-disciplinary world dancer with an early foundation in ballet, jazz, and contemporary, as well as a background in theatre. For the past 13 years while working as a professional belly dancer she has discovered much need for dialogue and education among dancers and audiences on this unique dance art form. In 2010 she launched Belly Dance Off, an interactive format designed to engage everyone.
