Stones in His Pockets by Marie Jones
THE CRITICS LOVE STONES! "Visceral, funny, and emotionally dead-on ... one of the biggest surprises of the year." -Seattle Weekly
"As an acting tour de force, 'Stones in His Pockets' functions beautifully. Its social satire--of Hollywood vanity and Irish vagary--covers familiar territory in novel ways." -Seattle Post-Intelligencer
QUIET ON THE SET! In this tongue-in-cheek comedy two actors play 18 different characters amidst a Hollywood film production that overruns a picturesque Irish village. It's not the first film to be shot there. In fact, one of the locals is a surviving extra who appeared in The Quiet Man. Some villagers are so blase about the production that they laugh at the accent of the leading lady played by an American movie star and burst into hysterics during scenes depicting a bogus interpretation of Anglo-Irish history. They aren't so cavalier when they discover a local teenager broken by an American dream that doesn't apply to him. Now that's a wrap for the extras!
"Sad, hilarious, and irresistible" -London Times
