2012 Marks Molasses Creek's 19th Year!

Phenomenal songwriters and interpreters of song, Molasses Creek concerts run the gamut of traditional to contemporary acoustic, sweet ballads with ensnaring vocal harmonies, hot instrumentals, quirky vaudevillian pieces, and captivating stage banter stitching it all together. Expect the unexpected . . . unexpect the expected!

Molasses Creek's 12 recordings have received airplay around the world along with a nomination for European Country Music Association band of year. In 2012, their new release "An Island Out of Time" reached the #4 position on the National Folk Radio Charts. In the same year they were also awarded the Hyde County Tourism Award. They tour throughout the United States and were featured in David Holt's "Musical Traditions of North Carolina" and at Our State Magazine's "Best in Our State" festival.

Molasses Creek's Deepwater Theater roster includes Gary Mitchell (guitar & vocals), Fiddler Dave Tweedie (fiddle & vocals), Lou Castro (dobro, bass, & vocals), and Marcy Brenner (mandolin, bass, vocals).
