Women in the Making Politics and Public Service Summit for Girls 11-19
The day's theme is "We the People!" Wear what most represents who you are, what you believe in or what you aspire to -- colors, t-shirts, hats, buttons, etc. with quotes and slogans OR sport the logo or mantra of an organization you're proud to be a member of!
The WIM Shero Panel is back! Featuring dynamic and passionate NYC City Councilwomen Letitia James and Julissa Ferreras, Political Strategist and Co-Founder of Higher Heights for America Glynda Carr and Political Entrepreneur Reshma Saujani, the first Indian-American woman to run for Congress. They'll empower our girls with: * Understanding the political process and how you fit in * What do politicians as public servants do? * Understanding how politicians' decisions affect even the youngest of citizens * Ideas and ways YOU can be of service and effect change in your own community * How you can begin your career in politics and public service now
Raffle items to explore history, culture and the greater New York City area * Family packages to The Museum of the City of New York * Family packages to The American Museum of Natural History * Workshops on developing careers in politics and public service and more!
Fun mock debate sessions and networking with women in the making from around the city. Breakfast provided by Starbucks, lunch and goody swag bags!

Robinson, Women in the Making: Tomorrow's History Today (WIM) is the health and lifestyle radio show that highlights the views, perspective, questions, goals and accomplishments of today's girl. Each show's topic features a discussion with a young lady that's demonstrated leadership in that area along with a 'shero' adult mentor that has expertise on the issue. WIM covers a full range of topics from images in the media, finances and school to healthy eating, careers and the role of girls and women in revolutions around the world.
