Master Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra January 2016 Concerts
Hear Carl Nielsen's Helios Overture, a musical description of the sun rising and setting over the Aegean sea. This overture is a great showpiece for the orchestra.
Experience Bela Bartok's piano concerto number 3, a piece described as "light and airy", written during the World War II years. Our featured soloist is Hélène Wickett, who has performed with many major orchestras throughout the world and who has had several major works dedicated to her.
Listen to our program's final piece, Igor Stravinsky's Symphony in Three Movements. Stravinsky called this piece his "war symphony", and many portions are direct responses to events of World War II.
Tickets for January 23 and January 24 are all good for either date.
