Two Barns
This is a compelling story of survival and the courage of individuals who tried to save their neighbors in World War II Poland. For more than 70 years, the story of the barn in the village of Jedwabne where local Christians burned to death hundreds of Jewish neighbors was perceived as a unique case of cruelty and brutality. Is it possible that this incident was not an exception, but rather the rule? Even before the Nazis declared their Final Solution, tens of thousands of Jews had been murdered by their neighbors in villages and township all over Poland, Russia and Ukraine.
