Official Selection: The Dish & The Spoon preceded by Una Hora Por Favora
Downtown Independent is thrilled to present this female driven, festival favorite indie comedy with heart, Dish & The Spoon (90min), written and directed by Alison Bagnal, produced by Amy Seimetz (Horrible Way To Die, SIlver Bullets and this year's SXSW premiere Sun Don't Shine, ) and starring Greta Gerwig (Hannah Takes The Stairs, Greenberg) and Eleonore Hendricks (Bad Fever, Go Get Some Rosemary).  A hit of last year's SXSW Festival, we will be celebrating its upcoming digital release.

Expected to attend: THIS JUST IN: star Greta Gerwig and D.P. Mark Schwartzbard will be joining us along with,  editor Darrin Navarro (Terri), producer Amy Seimetz  and co-writer Andrew Lewis.

Log: From writer/director Alison Bagnall (BUFFALO 66, PIGGIE) comes the poignant comedy THE DISH & THE SPOON. Greta Gerwig stars as Rose, a woman descending into an emotional tailspin after her husband admits to an affair. Hell-bent on revenge, she drives to a boarded-up Delaware beach town to hunt down the other woman. Instead, she discovers a stranded British teenage boy and the mismatched pair stumble through a series of adventures that build towards an unconventional romance in this funny and raw film.

Preceded by Sundance Film Festival short film competition entry, UNA HORA POR FAVORA (13min) written and directed by Jill Soloway, produced by Mary Pat Bentel (The Lie) and starring Wilmer Valderrama as a day laborer and the fabulous Michaela Watkins as the woman who picks him up for 'una hora'. Soloway's an established and hilarious tv/film writer and author of Tiny Ladies in Shiny Pants.  Jill Soloway as well as other members of the production team will be in attendance.
