A little nervous about trying out watercolor? This beginner's evening class may be for you!
We will explore the nature of watercolor by engaging small scale sketchbook sized projects. We will play with color harmonies, create "wet-on-wet" forms with washes, try transparent "glazes" that look like stained glass, experiment with color-charging background space, and create miniature watercolor landscapes and seascapes. Special attention for beginners!
This class is also for those who have attended a prior watercolor class with Constance Pierce. Each artist will choose one or two independent watercolor projects that best focus on the individual's abilities and interests. Each participant will focus on developing a creative series of new works. Individualized guidance will be provided by the instructor.
Prices: $135 for YAC members, and $150 for non-members.
Instructor: Constance Pierce, has twice exhibited her sketchbooks at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC and served as University professor of drawing and painting in New York state. She was a prior visiting artist at Millsaps College and a research fellow at Yale Divinity School. Constance has exhibited in NY, DC, CT, OH, PA, MD, MI, NC, MS and most recently in Japan.
Supply information will be emailed after registration.
Cancellation Policy: If a student misses the first class and must cancel (within 2 days - no later), he or she will receive a full refund. No other class refunds are available.
