Composting 101 with Master Composter and Gardener Diane Dovholuk, Wente Restaurant
All soil types need organic matter to feed microorganisms, improve soil structure and facilitate plant growth. Compost is easy to make and recycling your food and garden waste on-site is a sustainable practice that will save you money. In this hands-on workshop, attendees will learn the how-to's of compost making by building a hot compost pile. Bring a bag of leaves to the workshop to contribute to the pile. We will also learn the fundamentals of vermicomposting with worms.
Instructor Bio: Diane Dovholuk is the Garden Manager for the Restaurant at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, California.
