The Illinois Raptor Center will have public open house tours on Sunday, October 18th.
The Illinois Raptor Center is a 25 acre wildlife rehabilitation and conservation education facility along the Sangamon River at 5695 W. Hill Road in Decatur, IL. It is very rare that the IRC opens ups its wildlife hospital and rehabilitation facilities to the public. During the open house however, the public will get to tour the wildlife hospital and rehabilitation area, the education bird complex, the nature/education center and the trails. Many raptors will be on display.
The theme of the day is "How to Help Without Hurting." The IRC will focus on ways the public can help wildlife to stay in the wild. To reduce traffic and parking problems the IRC will open its facilities up for tours at 3 specific times during the day. Tour times are 10:00AM to noon, 1:00PM to 3:00PM, and 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Please reserve a time most convenient for your schedule and honor that allotted time.
Tickets: "Will-Call" means the IRC will receive your name on the list of attendees - physical ticket is not necessary. But if you prefer to print your ticket or send a copy to your smart phone you may do so.
