Online ticket sales have ended. Tickets available at the door at 7:30pm. In partnership with The Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center in Kingston, TMI Project will celebrate National Coming Out Day (officially October 11th) by holding a coming-out themed edition of its popular T.M.I.dol story slam series.
The slam will be emceed by comic, performer and TMI Project co-founder Julie Novak who'll be coming off an off-Broadway performance of her one-person show about coming out and gender fluidity, America's Next Top, at the United Solo Festival.
T.M.I.dol is TMI Project's popular story slam series (think TMI Project meets American Idol), in which readers compete by telling short, true stories from their own experiences, on a particular theme. Readers are given guidelines for creating a story, but unlike with the monologues produced for our stage shows, we do not do any work on these, nor even see the stories beforehand.
The Center strives for positive social change through advocacy, community education, cultural awareness, and wellness programs that assist in the creation, development, and growth of LGBTQ-affirming organizations, institutions, and culture within the community at large.
The LGBTQ Center is located at: 300 Wall St. Kingston, NY 12401
