Indonesian Nasi Campur Cooking Class
Never get take out again! A Little Yumminess home cooks and moms Simran and Stacie will show you how to make nasi campur, an Indonesian rice-based meal that is tasty and inexpensive, and will WOW your family and friends. You will learn how to make curry paste, sambal (see definitions below), and chicken and veggie curries. Simran and Stacie will also discuss pantry staples, give tips for balancing a busy life with cooking for your family, and offer advice for getting picky eaters (adults and kids) to try new foods.
This class includes dinner (vegetarian available). You will go home with your own curry paste, so please bring a 4-8oz glass jar with you.

Nasi Campur refers to a dish of rice topped with various meats, vegetables, peanuts, eggs and fried-shrimp chips. Depending on which areas it originate, a nasi campur can include several different side dishes, including vegetables, fish and meats. It is a staple meal of the Southeast Asian countries, and popular especially in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Sambal is a chili based sauce which is normally used as a condiment. Sambals are popular in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the southern Philippines and Sri Lanka, as well as in the Netherlands and in Suriname through Javanese influence.
