Enigmas Formed back in 1981 in Vancouver, The Enigmas swept Western Canada's underground music scene with legendary performances until lead singer and saxophonist Paul McKenzie formed The Real McKenzies in 1992.
The early 80s underground music scene was inundated with heavy thrash punk or grim, depressing post-punk. The Enigmas reacted to that by playing a mix of fun sixties garage rock, psychedelia and fast tempoed pop. After emerging from the notorious Smilin' Buddha they became regulars at the legendary Railway Club as well as headlining large warehouse punk rock shows.
The band released two 12" EPs, the second 'Strangely Wild' on the Zulu Records label. A video of their song 'Windshield Wiper' from that record received regular airplay on Muchmusic. They also appeared on a number of compilation records. The Real McKenzies went on to be international stars and tour the World extensively to this day. The other members went on the perform in The Scramblers, Cane Toads, The Fiends, JP5 as well as many others. www.facebook.com/TheEnigmasBand
Wasted Strays The dudes in Wasted Strays are all long-time punk rock veterans, having played in or currently playing in such bands as Scum Element, DOA, Death Sentence, Legion of Goons, Excessives, Real McKenzies, Rampage, and the greatest Iron Maiden tribute band in the world, Powerclown. Whilst all of Wasted Strays members are accomplished musicians in their respective musical endeavours, when they are Wasted Strays they combine to form a street-country Voltron. https://www.facebook.com/WastedStrays
Making Strangers A three piece grungy rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia. http://makingstrangers.bandcamp.com/releases
