The Question Of God: A Panel Discussion
Join PPC for this free public event that will set the stage for our annual fundraiser on March 3. The Question of God examines the world view of C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud, while asking questions about how the idea of a creator impacts one's view of life and the meaning of life. The presentation will include film clips of the PBS series dedicated to the book and panelists from various faith and psychoanalytic perspectives.
Panelists will include: Rev. Eric R. Andrae, S.T.M., Campus Pastor at First Trinity Lutheran Church, Oakland
Eleanor Irwin, Ph.D., Child and Adult Psychoanalyst, Training and Supervising Analyst, Faculty PPC
Ronald G. Jalbert, Ph.D. Psychologist, Jungian Analyst, Affiliate Member PPC
Gary Swanson, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, and Psychiatry Residency Program Director Allegheny General Hospital
Moderator will be Howard Foster, M.D. Psychoanalyst, Training and Supervising Analyst, President of PPC
The audience will also be encouraged to engage in their own small-group discussions. You do not have to have read the book in order to enjoy the event. Come and take part in a lively conversation about these two historical figures and explore your own personal point of view. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be available (donation requested).
Tickets to the play and fundraiser, Freud's Last Session will also be available for purchase.
