Seafarers Island Holiday on January 1, 2016
Sponsored by Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands this annual boat trip is the best way to start the New Year! We shall visit Thompson Island with its meadows, forests, beaches and 40 acres salt marsh.
Like watching birds? We'll have a birder-led tour as well! Unlike other winter tours, our boat will dock on Thompson Island and the tour will be on foot (proper footwear necessary for all participants!).
NEW! We have just added a Yoga and Meditation Session - facilitated by PopUp Asana. Look for the special ticket option for this new experience and start the New Year in a mind altering way!
We'll also have "goodie bags" for the first 150 participants (maybe more) including Taza Chocolate, Discount coupons for Sushi, Food from Charles River Bistro (anticipated).
Pack a picnic, explore on your own or take a tour with an FBHI volunteer. There will be a building open for warmup space and a book and merchandise sales table. Park policy is no pets and no alcohol.
We will travel on MV Freedom which holds 300 people and is heated. The trip will depart at 12:00 p.m. sharp and return to the dock at 4:00p.m.
MV Freedom departs from Rowes Wharf onboard Mass Bay Lines (behind the Boston Harbor Hotel). Tickets can be purchased on the day of the trip (cash, check and credit cards accepted).
The trip goes rain or shine. There are no refunds. If the captain/boat company cancel the trip due to severe weather conditions a credit will be issued for either a future boat trip, merchandise or membership. The ticket holder may choose what they would like to apply their credit towards. Park policy is no pets and no alcohol.
