Weed Management Field Day
Are weeds encroaching on your pastures, cutting in to your productivity, or taking over sensitive areas? This in-the-field workshop will cover weed identification, approaches and practices to help you manage them, and how to create your own weed management plan to stay ahead of the game. The workshop will focus on using an IPM (integrated pest management) approach to controlling weeds covering preventative, mechanical, cultural, biological, and as a last resort, chemical methods.
The workshop will be held at Son Rise Ranch, an equine education and youth development center in Fern Prairie. Participants will have the opportunity to see how a weed management plan can be implemented on a small acreage property and receive great resources, tips and advice from Clark County Vegetation Management. A Q&A session will allow participants to bring up questions about problem weeds on their properties.
This workshop is put on by the Small Acreage Program which is made possible by joint sponsorship from WSU Clark County Extension and Clark County Environmental Services Clean Water Program.
WSU Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. Persons requiring special accommodations should call WSU Clark County Extension at (360) 397-6060 ext. 0 at least two weeks prior to the event.
