Merrimans' Playhouse Jazz Performance Series presents the Andy Pratt Trio
The Andy Pratt Trio focuses on Pratt's original compositions and obscure gems from the Great American Songbook. Featuring Andy Pratt on guitar and vocals, Andre Beasley on drums, and John Sutton on bass. With an appreciation for story and lyric, Andy always chooses material that hits a nerve for himself and the listener. His debut 2011 EP release: "How It Lies," showcases Pratt's fondness for the jazz standard with songs such as "Be Good To Her," "I'm Just A Lucky So & So," and "How It Lies, How It Lies, How It Lies." He is currently working on a CD of all original music.
Andy Pratt has been making music in Chicago since 2005. He plays guitar, sings, composes and works as a sideman. He's performed with Jazz musicians Chuck Hedges, John Baney, Andy Brown, Don Stille, Eric Schneider, Don Stiernberg, Bob Rummage, Dan Delorenzo, and many others. He is also a member of the Joe Policastro Trio, which performs every Sunday night at Pops For Champagne.
