Liberty!, Equality!, and Fireworks!: A New Play by Gregory S. Perrin
This new play is a remount of our popular production of Gregory S. Perrin's play that was presented in Oct. of 2014 for Central Texas' young people and their families. This fall we are performing this exploration of key historical concepts found in our national history at the LBJ Presidential Library's Auditorium.
The play follows the story of a group of 4th grade students through a history museum. The students are less than excited to spend their day in what they believe will be a very boring location. Imagine their surprise when the people in the exhibits come to life and invite them into the past. The production features iconic images from the 1960s that are integrated into a dynamic, theatrical exploration of historical happenings and current concerns.
The play is best for students in grades 3 and above and for their families. Although the production was presented for over 1,000 young people in 2014, the response to the production demonstrated that this is a production that adults find just as engaging as young people. This is truly a production for all ages.
