Sperm whales have learned how to follow Alaskan fishermen and take fish from their catch. A team of scientists and fishermen has been able to study and witness this behavior using both underwater video cameras and underwater acoustic recorders. Come enjoy a evening where both GoPros and middle-school geometry will be used to gain insight into this behavior. Includes a discussion of Next Generation Science Standards connections and classroom activity ideas.
