Playwrights' Arena presents the World Premiere of award-winning playwright Jennifer Maisel's @thespeedofJake,to be directed by acclaimed director Jon Lawrence Rivera.
Emily and Clark, a professor and a tech wizard respectively, had that perfect soccer parent life until their 10 year old died in an inexplicable random accident. Three years later, their son is gone and their marriage is shattered. Emily now wants to move on, but Clark thinks he can use technology to contact Jake wherever it is death has taken him.
A meditation on love, connection and disconnection in this increasingly distant time, @thespeedofJake contemplates the universal desire to cheat death against the backdrop of our rapidly evolving technological world.
