Russian Romances, European and American Classics
Vadim Kolpakov presents
The concert of the famous Russian singer from Boston, ALEXANDER PROKHOROV, featuring the young guitar virtuoso who is visiting Charlotte from Russia, ALEXANDER KOLPAKOV JR., and local talents.
For the first time in Charlotte !
Alexander Prokhorov is a bass - baritone, pianist, choral conductor, vocal coach, and producer. A graduate of Moscow Conservatory's College of Music, Longy School of Music, Bard College, and Boston Opera Institute, Mr. Prokhorov has a Master's Degree in Vocal performance and he is a professional opera singer (Bass-Baritone) and a pianist. His operatic roles include Don Pasquale with Boston Opera Institute, Raimondo with Boston Bel Canto Opera, Ashby with the Boston Music Academy, and Ferrando with Boston Bel Canto Opera. Alexander's solo concert appearances range from famous Jordan Hall of New England Conservatory in Boston, Stravinsky's Les Noces with Ohio State University Chamber Orchestra, to Handel's Messiah with the Sapphire Coast Music Festival in Australia. Mr. Prokhorov is also a celebrated performer of Russian and Gypsy romances in the USA and Europe.
Aleksandr (Sasha) Kolpakov Jr. was born in Saratov, Russia in 1993. He studied classical guitar from the age of seven. After finishing the Saratov Musical School, he entered the Nostsova College of Music, studying with the guitar teacher Svetlana Rychkova. He also took lessons from his grandfather, the celebrated Russian-Gypsy guitarist, Alexander (Sasha) Kolpakov, and performs and studies with his uncle, virtuoso seven-string guitarist, Vadim Kolpakov. Aleksandr participated in a number of competitions and earned several prizes. He performs in Russia and abroad with the Russian-Gypsy ensemble Gilya Romen, as well as with Vadim Kolpakov, and Via Romen, his U.S.-based ensemble. His repertoire includes traditional Russian and Romani (Gypsy) music, classical, flamenco, jazz, pop, and other world music, and he continues the work of his famous grandfather and uncle by performing their written music. Alexander (Sasha) Kolpakov Jr. will perform together with his uncle, Vadim Kolpakov as well as with the Alexander Prokhorov and local talents.
The concert will also feauture local talents, vocalist and songwriter - Tatyana Thulien (vocals and guitar);
Dancers - Marina Shanefelter (flamenco and Russian-Gypsy dances),
And surprise performances by the young local talents.

Александр получил свое образование в Москве и Бостоне. Он всегда активно сочетал концертную и театральную карьеру сначала с учебой , а затем с преподавательской деятельностью. Александр много гастролировал по России, Европе Америке и Австралии. В репертуаре Александра oперные aрии, aрии и песни из бродвейских мюзиклов, италианские, русские, украинские, еврейские, америкаские, цыганские песни, песни военных лет, русские классические и старинные романсы и др.
Александр сотрудничал и продолжает работать с различными оперными компаниями, фестивалями и хоровыми группами.Он основатель оригинального метода обучения пению 1,2,3, Sing!. Александр проводит мастерклассы в Соединенных Штатах и Европе. Александр Прохоров является художественным руководителем оперной компании Commonwealth Lyric Theater (Бостон), а также Детской и юношеской студии Lucky ten".
АЛЕКСАНДР КОЛПАКОВ младший, продолжатель известной артистической династии, классический виртуоз-гитарист, лауреат всероссийских и международных конкурсов. Участник дуэта и группы VIA ROMEN под руководством Вадима Колпакова. Александр окончил Музыкальный Колледж им. О.Н. Носцовой. Репертуар Александра включает в себя произведения различных стилей и жанров, от классики до джаза.
В концерет так же примут участие, известный виртуоз-гитарист, вокалист и танцор, ВАДИМ КОЛПАКОВ,
талантливая вокалистка и автор песен, ТАТЬЯНА ТУЛИНА,
замечательная танцовщица, МАРИНА ШЭЙНФЕЛТЕР, а так же другие местные талантливые артисты.
