Girlyman
Girlyman earned enough at their first gig to buy a milkshake. Now, ten years later, they sell out the folk world's largest and most prestigious venues. The Village Voice called the Atlanta-based threesome "really good, really unexpected, and really different." Noted for their melodious, harmony-driven songs and quirky sense of humor, Girlyman offers an addictive blend of contemporary folk, Americana, and buoyant gender-bending pop. They play acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, djembe, and electric baritone guitar. Their on-the-spot songs (about everything from the Antipope to the benefit of firing a cannon in a musical composition) have become cult favorites. And, we must add, we've been waiting in line for at least three years to bring this band to the Caffè Lena stage. Yay!
