Join the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra for a delightful afternoon of Mozart on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 3-5 PM in the ideal chamber music setting of Everett's First Presbyterian Church.
Opening the afternoon's festivities will be Mozart's "Sinfonia Concertante for Four Winds". Scored for solo oboe, solo clarinet, solo horn, solo bassoon, and an orchestra of two horns, two oboes, and strings. This piece is very popular today, and regularly performed. The writing for wind instruments here is of such high quality that it is well regarded by professional musicians
Mezzo Soprano Gail Neil will join the orchestra in the performance of selected arias. We are excited for her return to our stage. Ms. Neil is a NW favorite in many roles & genres. She is a frequent performer with the Seattle Opera and her performance of Mozart will be captivating!
A fitting end to this exciting afternoon will be the well known SYMPHONY NO. 38 "PRAGUE". Known as the Symphony without Minuet it stands upon an equally eminent plane with the great "last three". Many critics esteem it one of the most admirable products of symphonic literature up to the close of the eighteenth century.
Your concert experience will continue with an opportunity to meet the musicians at a reception (with cookies!) in the adjoining social hall.
Seating is limited, so don't wait to sign up for this one!
