Come and explore the wonder of symphonic music in a program designed for "kids" from 3 to 103! Kids will also have an opportunity to Meet the Instruments up close after the performance with some hands on opportunities in the percussion family AND a conducting lesson with our Maestro.
Excite your imaginations and start your Holiday excitement with Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije's "Sleigh Ride", and Dance of the Tumblers from "Snow Maiden" by Rimsky-Korsakov.
The majestic "1812 Overture" by Tchaikovsky will make your skin tingle as the orchestra pulls out all the stops for this proud Russian nationalist celebration of victory complete with the sounds of cannon fire made by our percussion instruments.
Then you will enjoy some very familiar selections from the beloved motion picture "Frozen" and the exciting music of "Star Wars". Sit back and let your imagination run wild as the images play in your head.
An additional treat will be the appearance of the Snohomish County Music Teachers Association's 2015 Concerto Competition winner. Casey Sim is an accomplished 16 year-old pianist from Bothell and now she brings her amazing talents to the Everett stage as she performs Chopin's Andante Spianato et Polonaise. Selected by the SCMTA judges, Ms. Sim will be certain to delight and captivate the audience with her incredible talent.
A marvelous cast of musicians and the joy of symphonic music await you!
