David Francey
". . . like spending a perfect evening passing the time with a good old friend and a few glasses of a fine single malt, discussing love, the latest news, and life in general." - Les Siemieniuk, Penguin Eggs Magazine on Francey's latest CD "Late Edition"
From carpenter to songwriter, Scottish-born Canadian David Francey is recognized as one of today's finest singer-songwriters. His straightforward songs tell honest stories of real people and real places. Poetic perception and a keen eye for the heart of the matter, and charming, self-effacing humor are his trademarks. Over the course of just five years he received three Juno Awards. Francey's momentum continued in 2011 with two Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations (SOLO ARTIST OF THE YEAR and ENGLISH SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR), along with the release of another album, Late Edition. Produced in Nashville by Kieran Kane, the album is Francey's first solo release since 2007's Juno-winner Right of Passage.
