Join the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra for its Sixth Season opening concert on October 3, 2015, from 7-9 PM at the Everett Civic Auditorium.
It opens with Dmitri Shostakovich's Festival Overture, a work selected to begin this sixth season with a sense of triumph and celebration. Next, Alexander Arutunian's Trumpet Concerto will rouse the audience with its enchanting harmonies and spine-tingling melodies. Featuring the virtuosic talent of the Everett Philharmonic's own Principal Trumpet, George Steward, this performance will definitely seize and delight the audience's emotions. Ottorino Respighi's inimitable Pines of Rome with its skillful use of texture and shadowy harmonies will provide a fantastic finale to the evening. This work's monumental orchestration and inspired solos will enthrall the orchestra and audience alike, confirming its rightful place among the masterpieces of symphonic literature.
Dr. Paul-Elliott Cobbs will share his insights and historical details at the pre-concert stage side chat at 6:00 pm. Our wonderful soloist may even make an appearance for some of his own comments. (You will also be able to get your first choice of seating for the concert!)
Box Office will open at 5:45 to facilitate purchasing tickets at the door.
