FIRE BURN The Tragedy of Macbeth
LONDON, SEPTEMBER 2015 Fresh from their international tour, Immercity is announcing the London debut of their latest production, an immersive Macbeth, for three nights only at the Canning Town Caravanserai. Featuring just three actresses, the production uses Shakespeare's original text to tell the story from the perspective of the three Wyrd Sisters, the fates who claim to know more of MacBeth's story than MacBeth himself.
The site will open at 6:30pm with the show at 8pm. Each evening is built around the witches and the supernatural, and the audience will be immersed in the eerie atmosphere from the moment they enter. Dinner tickets are available for those who would like to dine before the show at 7pm at Macbeth's Banquet table. A choice of aromatic stews, chicken, lamb or aubergine, with sides of potato, rice and stuffed bread. Desert is fruit salad and toasted almonds.
Inspired by a desire to subvert the gender expectations of the original play, ImmerCity's production features highly praised performances by Anna Chessher and Jamie Birkett, with Alexandra Kataigida in the titular role. From the company that brought you "Wyrd" (The Upcoming, Everything Theatre) and their Edinburgh production, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Three Weeks, A Younger Theatre, Broadway Baby), Immercity is excited to present "MacBeth" as told by the weird sisters, in an event that will keep the audience on their toes the whole way through.
