Will Franken's New One-Man Show: "Meme & Pepe = Bebe"
Yes, Will Franken (www.willfranken.com) is back.
He vanished for awhile from the scene -- the scene can do that to a man sometimes. On September 10th, Will Franken briefly retired from almost a year long stretch of highly-successful one-man comedic shows at the historic Purple Onion club in North Beach following the conclusion of "Second Sandwiches".
Now, he's back with a brand new hour of never-before-seen material, one-night only, at the historic Purple Onion. Tonight, with "Meme & Pepe = Bebe". Throughout this performance, Will Franken (SF Weekly's "Best Comedian" and "Patron Saint of Misrule") will not only explain what a "meme" and a "pepe" and a "bebe" is, but he'll also weave in and our of hysterical one-man sketch vignettes like "Memorial Service For Joy Is Cancelled Because Joy Came Back From The Dead"; "The Hometown Visitors Take On The Visiting Home Team"; "The Negro Foundation"; and many, many more comedic outpourings that could only come from the conjunction of his highly-intuitive subconscious and his highly-skilled range of mimicry and character acting.
In addition, Will Franken will also debut his first-ever live action long-form police drama spoof -- "Radio Squawk At The Corner of Streetname and Something With Mud On It"
