SJ Tucker and Heather Dale in Memphis
Come enjoy the music of SJ Tucker and Heather Dale, live in concert at First Unity of Memphis on Thursday, March 22nd.
These two "Birds of a Feather" are finally performing together, and this is your chance to see them share a stage. Both Heather and SJ (aka Sooj) write modern music from mythic sources, and their musical styles complement each other well.
Heather Dale is a Canadian recording artist who cheerfully side-steps the stereotypes for both folk singer-songwriters and Celtic balladeers. Fusing traditional stories with a healthy mix of Celtic folk, world music and rock influences, she excels at finding modern themes within old material. She performs with her partner Ben Deschamps, and together they explore a lively, diverse folksong repertoire... a mix of original songs with fresh twists on traditional Celtic & folk material.
SJ Tucker, singer of songs and weaver of worlds, travels the United States year-round, sharing her own Celtic Gypsy Fairytale Blues. Sooj effortlessly channels the centuries' old archetype of the Bard, drawing on the magic of folklore from around the world and on the wisdom of stories ancient and modern to create fantastical new music. Joining her on this tour is Sooj's favorite cellist, Betsy Tinney, songwriter for "Alligator in the House" and "Tough Titty Cupcakes."
