The Village Playhouse presents: The Skin Of Our Teeth
The Village Playhouse April Mainstage Production of The Skin Of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder open April 1st, 2016. This show runs Fridays and Saturdays April 1st 16th at 7:30 PM with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 PM on April 17th.
The Skin Of Our Teeth, winner of the 1943 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, centers around George and Maggie Antrobus of Excelsior, New Jersey, a suburban couple (married for 5,000 years), who bear more than a casual resemblance to that first husband and wife, Adam and Eve. Also involved are the two Antrobus children, Gladys (perfect in every way, of course) and Henry (who is good with a slingshot and was formerly known as Cain); and their housemaid, Sabina (the eternal seductress), who takes it upon herself to break out of character and hysterically interrupt the course of the drama by ignoring the fourth wall.
Whether he is inventing the alphabet or merely saving the world from apocalypse, George, and his redoubtable family somehow manage to surviveby the skin of their teeth. Follow the Antrobus family through time as they dodge several apocalypses, ice ages, floods, and wars with Sabina serving as a reluctant guide into this complex, centuries-spanning world.
General admission is $17 for Adults and $15 for students and seniors (55+).
Performances are at Inspiration Studios 1500 S. 73rd St, West Allis WI, 53214
