Queen Lear
City Stage New West presents a concert reading of award-winning Canadian playwright Eugene Stickland's delightfully tender comedy, directed by Colleen Winton, and accompanied by cellist Peggy Lee, who won a Jessie Award for her sound design for the 2010 co-production Ms. Winton first directed for Western Gold and Presentation House Theatres. An aging actress cast in an all-female production of Shakespeare's King Lear hires a teen to help her memorize her lines, and the two begin an extraordinary relationship that ultimately transcends their divisions of age and experience.
