BOOKMARKS Presents A Conversation with Charlaine Harris
Charlaine Harris, a New York Times bestselling author, is the prolific writer of The Sookie Stackhouse urban fantasy series, which serves as the basis of the wildly successful HBO series True Blood. Starring Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, and Alexander SkarsgÄrd, True Blood will air its fifth season in the summer of 2012. Sookie's adventures as a telepathic waitress in southern Louisiana (and her dealings with vampires, werewolves and other creatures of the night) has found international acclaim. Harris is also the author of the Aurora Teagarden books, Shakespeare mysteries, and Grave Sight series.

Born and raised in the Mississippi River Delta area, Harris will be on tour for the hard cover release of Deadlocked, the twelfth book in her Sookie Stackhouse series. Harris has garnered an Anthony Award for Dead Until Dark, the first book in The Sookie Stackhouse series, and is a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the American Crime Writers League.  She is a member of the board of Sisters in Crime, and alternates as president of the Arkansas Mystery Writers Alliance.

Harris' books will be on sale and a book signing will follow the event. Questions for Charlaine Harris may be sent before the program by e-mailing: info@bookmarksbookfestival.org.

Q&A

Question: Is theer any way that you can contact me if the 5:30 event has an opening? Or if anyone wants to sell a ticket? Jill Flinchum
Answer: We do not have any more tickets for the 5:30 reception, but we do have tickets left for the General Admission event at 7pm.

Question: I have a premier Admission. I was wondering if there was a limit to how many items we can have Charlaine sign. I would love to get about 6 signed to others for Christmas presents!! :-) thanks for any info! Nikki
Answer: Charlaine will sign as many books as you want HOWEVER she will only sign 2 at a time to keep the line moving. So you can hang back until everyone has gotten their books signed, or you can get in line multiple times. Or you can have a friend get your extra copies signed. This is just a rule from the publisher so we have to abide by it. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Question: Approximately how long is the 7 pm event scheduled to last?
Answer: The talk should go till about 8:30 and then Charlaine will sign books.
