The beauty of "Kaiseki" in September
"Kaiseki" is one of the styles of Japanese cuisine, a course style Japanese cuisine made of various seasonal ingredients and cooked by variety of cooking methods. With monthly theme based on Japanese culture, the Japanese Kaiseki chef, Hiro Tawara will serve you a beautiful and delicious course of 5 dishes including a dessert. The theme of September event will be "Moon Viewing (Otsukimi)".
"Otsukimi (Moon viewing)" is a seasonal festival to enjoy the moon on the night of August 15 on the Chinese calendar which is September 27 this year. We decorate with silver grasses and offer rice dumplings to the moon in appreciation for the harvest of grains in Japan. It is said that the sliver grasses can be a house of Shinto God and act as a charm against evils.
