The Dilettanti Society Happy Hour - Cocktails and Show and Tell in the Morbid Anatomy Library: "Anachronistic Smut" with author Colin Dickey
Morbid Anatomy and Art in the Age present The Dilettanti Society Happy Hour - Cocktails and Show and Tell in the Morbid Anatomy Library with author Colin Dickey
Date: Thursday September 24th Time: 6.00 - 8pm Admission: $20 ( $12 for Members ) LIMITED TO 20 PEOPLE
This bi-monthly event is loosely inspired by the Dilettanti Society, a society of 18th century aristocrats and scholars eager to share their love for art and knowledge around a good drink, The Morbid Anatomy Museum is proud to open the doors of its permanent collection for a few late afternoon libations and the celebration of all things arcane and spectacular.
Meet collectors extraordinaire and their objects of intrigue. Discover the Library collection in a very unique way, a cocktail in your hand while enjoying the Victrola stylings of Ethan Crenson.
This week, Colin Dickey, author of "Cranioklepty: Grave Robbing and the Search for Genius" and "Afterlives of the Saints: Stories from the Ends of Faith" and co-editor of "The Morbid Anatomy Anthology" will present books from his "Gentleman's Library" of early 20th Century pornography, birth control manuals and other anachronistic smut.
Free seasonal refreshment will be served by our sponsors Art in the Age.
