SpectorDance is collaborating with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) to create Ocean, an innovative live performance integrating interviews with leading ocean scientists, high definition underwater film, original music and dance. SpectorDance brings a long history of creating innovative dance media works that weigh in controversial topics and MBARI provides over 20 years of cutting-edge ocean science research. This strategic teaming brings together fact and feeling to inform and inspire. Ocean explores changes in ocean chemistry, storm patterns, extinction of species, and the food web. Ocean will take the audience on a journey of discovery.

We know that the ocean is essential to all life. Understanding the state of our vast ocean frontier and its complexities is a timely and critical subject. Ocean brings together artists, scientists, educators, and presenters to expand perspectives, stimulate discussion, and contribute original solutions to the challenges facing one of the Earth's most critical resources.
