Distilled in Maine: Talk and Tasting
The Yarmouth Historical Society welcomes author, teacher, and food blogger Kate McCarty to the History Center at 7:00 pm on October 9. McCarty's newly published book chronicles the tumultuous history of distilling in Maine, from the rum trade through temperance and prohibition and finally to today's resurgence in locally-made craft spirits. She will discuss this intriguing era of Maine history. Of course, samples of historic cocktails and mocktails will be available to try as well as samples of locally-produced spirits from Cold River Vodka in Freeport.
Tickets will be available at the door after online sales have ended.
