Hannah Holbrook Songwriting Workshop
Where does a song come from? HANNAH HOLBROOK is best known for playing keyboard and singing lead and backup vocals with the popular band SHEL. She is also an accomplished solo singer/pianist with a style influenced by jazz, blues, rock, and her extensive classical training. Hannah (by the way, that's pronounced hah-na and doesn't rhyme with Montana!) talks about how she started writing songs from a very early age and how the words and music come together. Hannah shares some practical tips on how to get started and encourages musicians of all ages to find their song. Guest singer/songwriters include Ben Haugestuen, Sadie Thompson, and Mary Sue Thompson. 11:00-11:30am there will be a breakaway session for advanced singer/songwriters to talk about the business of music, recording, and touring. Admission is free, first come, or reserve your free ticket online at BrownPaperTickets.com. Sponsored by Magnolia Music Studio. Hannah Holbrook is Magnolia Studio 2012 Artist in Residence. Watch for dates TBA for songwriters rounds and concerts.
