Jive Coulis
Jive Coulis, pronounced ˈJīv Kü-ˈlē, is a three piece rock, blues, and funk band from Ashland, Oregon. Their repertoire consists of mostly original songs with a mix of classic rock covers. The band was formed in Boulder, CO in 2006 and has seen many line-up changes through the years except for two of the founding members; Jordan Mack (bass) and Eric Leadbetter (guitar and lead vocals). Eric and Jordan moved to Ashland, Oregon in 2007 following their involvement with Grand Tetons Songwriter tour. Collin Braley (drums) met the duo in Ashland and joined the group in late 2013.
2014 was a big year for Jive Coulis as they traveled over 16,000 miles and played 114 shows in 11 U.S. states. The trio rang in the New Year in Ashland and played a set of music from the "Big Lebowski" soundtrack as a treat. Between summer festivals in Oregon, the trio took an eight-week tour, playing shows in Colorado, Montana, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan and more. A September tour took the band down the California coast including stops in Santa Barbra, San Luis Obispo, and Redlands. In October, the band toured to Northern Washington and performed the soundtrack from the movie "This is Spinal Tap" for their local Ashland fans on Halloween. Jive Coulis welcomed Mark Johnson (Craig Chaquico) on keyboard for the Spinal Tap set.
2015 has also been a big year for Jive Coulis. They plan to release their first acoustic album this year which was self recorded/produced. JC has also started the recording process on their third electric album. The trio is also on par to play as many shows as they did last year, gigging nearly every weekend across the western United States. JC plans a tour back to the Midwest in September, 2015.
