"The Growing Beast" is an evening-length presentation offering an introspective reflection on the role perception plays in one's growth from childhood to adulthood and, ultimately, how those early experiences shape one's perception of the world.
About the Artist
Investigating movement with a sense of honesty and vulnerability, Katherine Maxwell is an independent contemporary moving artist who molds the body through a series of sensations and textures. Working with internal triggers to conduct happenings throughout the system, Katherine aims to maintain a clear sense of intention in order to instigate connectivity and awareness for the viewer thus ensuring observation and reflection of the human experience as an essential factor in developing a sincere voice. Laced into Maxwell's work is an intricate and refined fluidity that looks to reshape the preconceptions of most movement today.
