From Roots to World Hip Hop A Bob Marley Birthday Celebration with Audiopharmacy A seamless fusion of hip-hop, world, reggae, grassroots jazz, and soul into a natural mold, which speaks to your soul all while making you move. The San Francisco-based world hip-hop ensemble Audiopharmacy will perform on Saturday February 4 at 8:30 p.m. The evening will also feature Selectors Teao N Offerings and DJ Sister Yasmin. Audiopharmacy is a 4-piece World Hip Hop ensemble intricately fusing Dub, Reggae, Latin, Soul, and world music to deliver its message of empowerment and respect for life. The band describes itself as providing "visual and audio healing geared to soothe the senses and feed the soul." Their timeless classic "U Forgot About Us" is an album that honors those forgotten by the mainstream but remembered by their indigenous descendants. For Audiopharmacy, the spirit is evoked through the meditative process of storytelling woven within melodies inspired from all corners of the earth. The band members consist of Teao (guitar & turntables), Pomo/African lyricist Ras K'dee (Vocals & keys), & Keepyahjoy (bass & buckets), and Pulse (Drums). In the last 6 years, Audiopharmacy has played all over the West Coast (Ford Amphitheater, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium etc.), as well as New York, Oregon, & Washington. The band has also had international success performing at festivals, concert halls, & clubs, in Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, France, the UK, & Japan. Tickets are $15 general, available online and at the door; $12 for members with card, $10 youth (17 and under). The ArenaTheater bar and snack stand will be open.
