Event
La Ultima Parada
On November 1, 2015, East San Jose will once again embrace the cultural beauty of Day of the Dead. This event will be a safe, family-friendly celebration held at the historic Mexican Heritage Plaza. Guests will enjoy culturally relevant food and beverages, such as mole, tacos, beer and sangría from Chacho's. Over 50 musicians are expected to perform, showcasing the various musical styles of Mexico, including música jarocha, música huasteca, and mariachi. In addition, more than 150 dancers will perform traditional dances. Adorning altars and graveyard will be on display for the viewing pleasure. The Mexican Heritage Plaza will also host other family friendly activities like face painting and a costume contest. The event will also include a Carnival that will run Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday throughout the duration of the event. In this way, the Day of the Dead event will invite the community to participate in the beautiful cultural legacies of Mexico.
