Dreamers Of The Ghetto
DREAMERS OF THE GHETTO

Dreamers of the Ghetto are a family band from Bloomington, IN, consisting of brothers Luke and Jonathan Jones, Luke's wife, Lauren, and Marty Sprowles. After teasing blogs with enigmatic, homemade video clips for the past year, Indiana's most promising and perhaps most eccentric group finally unleashes their debut album, the stunning Enemy/Lover.

Dreamers of the Ghetto marries the sentiment of classic 80s film soundtracks to minimalist, romantic dream-rock, creating a unique environment that becomes almost instantly addicting. The triumphant, reach-for-the-stars attitude of veterans like U2 and Depeche Mode is paired with the gospel splendor of Spiritualized and ominous austerity of The xx, all carried by what Shaking Through calls "the most amazing singer we've seen since Sharon Van Etten." DOTG have mined a sound that is both timeless and nostalgic, and they've done so with an earnest fearlessness and refreshing lack of irony. They are true, pure, and unbelievably powerful.

LITTLE LEGEND

"These guys bring it, and they do it in a monstrously grotesque blend of styles. It's as though a gang of 50's greasers crashed into a 90's grunge band on the side of a lonely road." -Dan Walkner [from a Dane101.com article]

Not long after Brandy Tudor began writing songs and recording demos with only a Shure SM58 and a Gibson acoustic, he recruited the help of fellow musician, Joseph Copeland. The initial partnership started with the intent to layer on electric guitar textures and obtain backup at small gigs, but the collaboration quickly took on a life of its own. A diverse love of music between the two friends formed a voice that demanded its own identity.

In September of 2011, one month before they were to record their first album, the name 'Little Legend' was established, and the songs that developed evolved into shameless rock 'n' roll with touches of blues, 1960s pop, and a few shots of Southern whiskey. With the help of a drum and bass section, Dan Jin and Robbie Schiller, they are currently performing shows in the Midwest and planning a national tour to coincide with the release of their five-song E.P. in spring of 2012.

DREAMERS OF THE GHETTO

We have been a band to greater or lesser degrees since the mid 90's. Jeff started the band Ivory Library in the mid 80's and I (pat) joined in '95 when the other guitarist quit. We played Madison a lot, Minneapolis, and the other usual midwest spots. Ivory disbanded in '97 but Jeff and I continued making music that went into a collective nameless void which eventually became... Squarewave. We are: Patrick Connaughty, Jeff Jagielo, and Brandon Smith. Our latest release "Throwing Stones" is available through our friends at cdbaby, itunes, Madison record shops and directly from us. Let us know what you think and thanks for listening.
