5iveit wsg Homeless Poet
5IVEIT wsg HOMELESS POET - FEBRUARY 24 - $10 - ALL AGES

From Grand Rapids Michigan comes 5iveit. 5iveit is a blue collar musical team founded on pure collaboration and the pursuit of passion.  Melding live instrumentation with traditional Hip Hop sampling, Rick Chyme, Ryan K. Wilson and Nixon create their own brand of Conversational Truth Music.  An intimate live show including stripped down, acoustic renditions of some songs and fully interactive freestyles help blur the line between performer and observer as energy is exchanged among all present.

Hailing from Muskegon MI - "Homeless Poet is the brain-child of songwriters Todd Malec and Aaron Smith. Malec, now a Muskegon resident, formed the current lineup (with members of King Crabapple) under the Mux Rec label, transforming the previously acoustic sound into fresh, full band renditions of the Smith/Malec material. Blending a hiphop vibe with songwriter sensibility, Homeless Poet is a conduit for honest, original music."

Inside the Mitten showcases musical acts born from the great state of Michigan and is a concert series designed to expose the artists who put their experiences of these peninsulas to music.

Through a structured, moderated discussion the Michigan based artists that perform will expound on every facet of what it has taken them to get where they are. Artists are not chosen based on genre, rather they are chosen because they exhibit rare potential. Each concert is unique and makes for a diverse series of shows.

New this show: Fatty Lumpkins Sandwich Shack will set up a sandwich bar during the event. Fatty sanwiches are available for purchase during the show.
